Adding air conditioning to a home that has never had it, or putting a system into new construction, is a bigger job than setting a box on a pad. We plan the condenser location for noise and airflow, run and braze the line set under nitrogen so the inside of the tubing stays clean, pull a deep vacuum, set the evaporator coil and condensate drain properly, and add the electrical and disconnect to code. Then we commission it — superheat, subcooling and airflow measured and documented — because that is what determines whether the system delivers its rated efficiency.

Yes, in our service area it does, and the inspection is part of what makes the installation sound. We handle the permit and the inspection as part of the job rather than treating it as an extra.
What makes a good installation?
Correct sizing from a load calculation, a properly evacuated line set, verified refrigerant charge and measured airflow. Most air conditioners that underperform were installed poorly rather than built poorly — the commissioning is where the quality actually lives.
How long does it take?
A straightforward replacement is usually a day. New installations involving line sets, electrical work or ductwork take longer. We'll tell you what yours involves before we start.
